I’m so excited to finally share something I’ve been working on behind the scenes: my handmade wooden pin badges are now live on my website and Etsy shop!
These badges feel especially personal to me because every single design is a direct copy of my original drawings. I’ve taken my illustrations and carefully translated them into wearable pieces, making sure they stay true to the line work, colors, and character of the originals. Seeing my artwork come to life in this form has been incredibly rewarding.
From Drawing to Wooden Pin
Each badge starts as one of my hand-drawn designs, which is then transformed into a high-quality wooden pin. The level of detail that can be achieved on wood is amazing—it captures the personality and energy of the artwork while giving it a unique, tactile finish you just don’t get with other materials.
The result is something that feels like a miniature piece of art you can carry with you, pin to a jacket, or display on a bag.
Why Wooden Pins?
Sustainability is really important to me, and that’s a big part of why I chose to create these as wooden pin badges instead of enamel pins.
Wooden pins are:
- More environmentally friendly to produce
- Made from renewable materials
- Lower in energy consumption during manufacturing compared to enamel
All of my pins are made from Maple wood, which is a fantastically sustainable material. It’s durable, responsibly sourced, and has a beautiful natural finish that complements the artwork perfectly.
Compared to traditional enamel pins—which often rely on metal mining, chemical processes, and higher energy use—wooden pins are a much more conscious choice without compromising on quality or style.
Thoughtfully Made, Right Down to the Details
Another detail I really love is the backing cards. Each one is made and cut to order, which makes every badge feel that little bit more special. The cards are designed to complement the artwork, creating a complete piece that’s ready for gifting or collecting.
No mass production—just carefully made items with attention to detail at every step.
